3 Best Survivor picks (Texas Tech!) for the Sweet Sixteen in the men's NCAA tournament

Ok, so our second round of March Madness men's Survivor picks didn't have much more success than our first round. But how were we supposed to know this would be the year of (nearly) no upsets? We thought we could ride the aura of McNeese's Amir Khan or the experience of Gonzaga. Instead we got more chalk.

We can at least celebrate hitting on Ole Miss over Iowa State and BYU over VCU. As a reminder, the first round required three picks, the second round required two picks and each round from here on out will require just one.

Considering our hit rate, we'll go head and provide three options before the Sweet Sixteen gets underway on Thursday.

Best of luck!

No. 2 seed Michigan State over No. 6 Ole Miss

With all due respect to an Ole Miss team who just earned us a much-needed second-round victory, the Spartans should cruise in this one. Aside from Izzo's experience coaching March (which absolutely makes a difference at this stage), Michigan State enters with a top five defense per KenPom.

No. 4 seed Maryland vs. No. 1 seed Florida

I'll admit this is a gutsy pick, but we're trying to make up some ground here. Florida is a tough matchup for anyone at this point. Where Maryland might have an edge is in how fast the Terps can push the tempo and score. As long as Maryland can run with the Gators, this game should be extremely close. There also aren't too many low seeds remaining to choose from.

No. 3 seed Texas Tech over No. 10 seed Arkansas

Is Texas Tech being slept on? All the Red Raiders do is keep taking care of business without much attention. They easily got past Drake and now face an Arkansas team coming off an extremely emotional victory over St. John's and Rick Pitino. This feels like a huge mismatch between KenPom's No. 5 and No. 65 offenses.
