Latest 2025 NBA mock draft from Bleacher Report has Jase Richardson as a top-10 pick
Michigan State Spartans freshman Jase Richardson was flying under the radar on some mock drafts, but he is starting to gain some attention.
Jase, the son of NBA veteran Jason Richardson, recently moving into the starting lineup for head coach Tom Izzo. Since that change into a bigger role, the 19-year-old guard has shown incredible promise as an efficient scorer.
Although he was not a McDonald's All-American while in high school, the four-star recruit has stood out as one of the top freshmen in this class. He is now projected as not only a lottery pick but a potential top-10 choice in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Here is more from Jonathan Wasserman (via Bleacher Report):
"There is debate over what a best-case outcome looks like for Jase Richardson, who's 6'3" and hadn't demonstrated much playmaking through January.
And then he was inserted into the starting lineup in February and immediately put up 29 points against Oregon. He's continued to score efficiently by picking the right spots to attack with his dribble and pull-up.
It's also becoming more evident that his role can mask some self-creation. Regardless, the idea of a valuable off-ball scorer and secondary ball-handler is gaining steam behind his shooting efficiency, finishing craft and ball-screen decision-making.
Making 44.0 percent of his spot-up threes, 48.8 percent of his dribble jumpers and 73.5 percent of his layups, with 46 assists to 21 turnovers, accurate shotmaking and feel for the game could have teams valuing fit over upside."
Richardson fares well scoring at the rim and on 3-pointers and advanced metrics grade him out as one of the top players in his class. He is averaging 17.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game while shooting 40.0 percent on his 3-pointers as a starter.
