Hockey players find gentlemanly loophole before brawl

(AP)

There are several changes to the NHL rulebook this year, including a new rule regarding a player's helmet. Should a player remove his helmet before a fight, he will receive a two-minute penalty, in addition to the penalty time handed down for actually fighting. That means one fight could land a player seven minutes in the box.

The Islanders' Brett Gallant and the Devils' Krys Barch found the loophole. They removed each other's helmets.

Two men preparing to punch each other's faces until they bled, took a moment to show each other compassion like English gentlemen before a duel. Or  two goons scheming to get out of a two-minute minor.

Hilarious either way.
